Position Title: Coding Specialist

Location: Asheville, NC

Asheville Anesthesia Associates seeks a Coding Specialist who will be responsible for analyzing and processing inpatient/outpatient charges and checking for accuracy prior to charges being processed utilizing ICD-9 and CPT reference materials.

High School diploma or GED required. Coding certification is required. Knowledge and proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. One year experience and proven expertise in CPT/ICD-9 coding and interpretation and previous work in a medical billing office setting is preferred. Knowledge of business office procedures. Possess excellent interpersonal, clerical and telephone skills, good computer skills (including rapid data entry skills), strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, patients, and employees; utilize time management skills; comprehend and follow oral and written instruction; maintain productivity and work independently.
